Employee volunteer engagement

Empowering our employees to become actively involved with organizations through volunteerism is part of our culture and fuels how we connect with our local and therapeutic communities.  By providing the structure, support and guidance to our employees, we know the people of Shire deliver results and they value the chance to engage with and ultimately help others.  All Shire employees are provided one full day annually to volunteer with a community organization of their choice.  This is done on an individual basis and as team-building activities too.  Volunteering at a food bank, at community gardens, as a mentor at a local school, and cooking meals at a local homeless shelter are just a few examples of Shire employees in action.  In some instances where employees are actively engaged through community volunteerism, Shire may provide financial support for those events and projects.
