Who will this impact?

Health Care Professionals
The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires reporting on physicians licensed in the United States. Many of the state laws require reporting on all types of health care professionals who have active licenses in that state and are involved in the treatment of patients, such as nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists and others.

Health Care Organizations
The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act includes payments to teaching hospitals.  Health care organizations that will be affected include organizations which receive payments on behalf of HCPs or institutions for clinical trials sponsored by Shire, and research sites for Phase I-IV trials sponsored by Shire.  Some of the state laws require reporting to patient advocacy organizations, hospitals, medical schools and other types of organizations.
