Shire in the UK was named Marketing Company of the Year the annual PharmaTimes Marketeer Awards in recognition of the Company’s excellence in commercial marketing activities – December 2011

Shire was named Company of the Year in the UK’s annual TechMARK Awards in recognition of the Company’s sound business strategy, long term growth potential, and innovative approach to technology development – November 2011

Shire CEO Angus Russell is profiled in Pharmaceutical Executive magazine’s 30 year anniversary edition as one of 30 people who have made a difference through their innovative leadership that has transformed the industry – October 2011

Shire received the “Harvester of Hope Award” from Philabundance, the Philadelphia region’s largest hunger relief organization, providing emergency food and access to services to people at risk of hunger and malnutrition throughout the Delaware Valley, for its commitment to fighting hunger in communities across the region  – September 2011

Shire in greater Philadelphia received a Platinum Award from GVF, a transportation management association, at the 2011 Sustainable Awards, recognizing organizations for their outstanding achievements in implementing programs that provide and promote commuting alternatives for their employees and its community in ways that reduce congestion and improve air quality – September 2011

Shire in Massachusetts was honored by Mass Recycle with their Business Gold Award for our leadership and innovation in promoting and executing sustainable on-site recycling and waste reduction – July 2011

Shire’s Fosrenol team wins top honors at the UK’s 2011 Communiqué Awards for the “Making a Difference" campaign.  Supporting community and patient organizations is at the heart of Shire; instead of constructing a traditional display booth at the ERA-EDTA Congress, Shire invited delegates to symbolically build it brick-by-brick, each brick directing funds to patient organizations that improve renal patient care – July 2011
 

Shire is honored as the Business of the Year at the 2011 First Women Awards, recognizing the Company as the only FTSE 100 business where women make up 50 percent of the executive leadership team.  The First Women Awards recognizes pioneering women and organizations in the UK whose achievements open up opportunities for others – June 2011

Mass High Tech, the life sciences and technology publication in Massachusetts, named Shire to its “Tech Citizenship” list in recognition of Shire’s support of charitable organizations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – December 2010

Shire’s Firazyr, a treatment for patients diagnosed with Hereditary Angiodema, takes the top honor in the orphan disease category at the 2010 UK Prix Galien Awards.  The Prix Galien is considered among the most prestigious distinctions in the industry, recognizing technical, scientific and clinical research to develop innovative medicines – October 2010

Shire’s Bill Ciambrone is named one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the Life Sciences Industry by PharmaVOICE magazine – July 2010

Shire received top honors in two categories at the annual Communiqué Awards, which recognize excellence in healthcare communications and are presented by the PMGroup in the UK.  Shire won in the “Best Internal Communications” category for A Brave New Brand for Shire Pharmaceuticals, recognizing the communication activities related to the introduction of Brave, Shire’s corporate brand; and in the “Best Medical Communications via Meetings or Congresses” category for “Through the Looking Glass: A Child’s Perspective on ADHD” developed to help Shire's entry into the UK ADHD market   – July 2010

Shire and Proteus Theatre Company receive top honors in the Cultural Branding and Innovation category at the UK’s Arts & Business South East Awards 2010 for their partnership on the production of The Elephant Man performed at the prestigious ‘Brits Off Broadway’ Festival in New York. The Arts & Business Awards celebrate the best in creative collaborations across the south east of England.   The Awards honor successful business and arts partnerships that demonstrate tangible benefits for each organization; Shire’s goal was to increase awareness around early diagnosis of rare diseases – July 2010

Shire’s “FOSRENOL On Track” Program is named the Best Integrated Patient Support Program at the Annual Strategic Patient Adherence Awards presented at the Annual Forum on Patient Adherence, Compliance and Persistency event – April 2010

PR Week Award 2010Shire’s Corporate Communications team receives top honors in the annual PR Week Awards, which are among the most prestigious honors in the communications industry and presented by PR Week magazine in the US, in the “Employee Communications Campaign of the Year” category for A Brave New Brand for Shire Pharmaceuticals, recognizing the communication activities related to the introduction of Brave, Shire’s corporate brand – March 2010

Shire’s ADHD team received top honors from the Telly Awards® and their Silver Council in the video broadcasting and production category for the INTUNIV Satellite Program through the Shire created "ADHD News Network” broadcast – March 2010

Shire’s International ADHD Marketing Team took home top honors at the Pharma Marketing Advertising Awards for our film Changing Faces of ADHD, which won the Craft Award for Best Digital Animation Film – February 2010

Shire’s Martin Smith was named UK Aspiring Marketer of the Year in the annual UK PharmaTimes Marketeer of the Year Awards – December 2009 

The Public Relations Society of America’s Philadelphia chapter honors Shire with their top award, a Pepperpot, in the Community Relations category for our publicity campaigns and support of three philanthropic initiatives in the Philadelphia region – December 2009

Shire is named as one of the most admired companies in the health sector by UK publication Management Today magazine in their annual ranking, which is developed based on feedback from peers in each industry – December 2009
